Sphephelo is an up and coming South African dj / producer of Afro House /Tech music. He continues building his career riding the growing global interest of his home country’s proliferating dance music.

Born April 20 1996, in Pietermaritzburg; Sphephelo grew up surrounded by music. Despite being influenced by his mother; a church choir singer, becoming an athlete was of more interest to him as he exhibited great potential to be a professional football player. However, plan A ended in high school with an injury early in the football season; sidelining him for the remainder of the year. His inability to participate in sports stemmed his passion for electronic music; diving deeper into music, creating mashup mixes for his friends and performing for the first time at his Valentines Ball.

Sphephelo’s original music has been featured several times on BBC Radio London with DJ Jess Iszatt, on NTS Radio with Skinny Macho and Jaguar on BBC Radio 1 Introducing.

This his debut release on Optimo Music is a two tracker of hypnotic Afro Tech with Zulu vocals.
